Agile Leadership in an Ever-Changing World

AGILE LEADERSHIP—Staying Ahead of the Pack in an Uncertain Economic Climate

The New Leadership America format is a series of three stand-alone sessions. Each 2009 session will be limited to 25 participants and will address leadership competencies critical to Agile Leadership in the current economic climate. The third seminar will have an optional trip to China to experience the realities of international assignments and provide participants a global perspective on the economy.

Conversations will center on using the expertise of Connective Leaders, who rely on multiple short-term coalitions, rather than long term alliances; who identify the talents of others to realize strategic goals; who collaborate and contribute to others' goals to achieve a larger good; who inspire others' responsibility and creativity to move the agenda forward; and who see mutual solutions where others see only mutual roadblocks.

Following briefings from State Department officials and economic policy leaders in Washington, DC, 2009 Leadership America international participants will fly to Beijing. As a presentation of The Women's Museum, Leadership America will access the experience and expertise of the Smithsonian Institute to plan and implement this trip.

This overseas session will feature an incisive look at China's economy and its ever-expanding impact on the world marketplace. This session will provide an unequaled opportunity to connect to women leaders in a country whose destiny is inevitably intertwined with our own.
