THE EDUCATION OF A NATION

Are Our Nation’s Education Models Relevant In A Global Society?

The third session in Leadership America’s 2010 series of programs will convene in Washington, D.C., for an in-depth examination of "The Education of a Nation."

Education is one of the most critical, complex, comprehensive, and often controversial issues facing all Americans. Everyone agrees an educated workforce that is second to none is the key to stimulating our national economy, ensuring our national security, preserving our national standard of living, and maintaining our nation’s status in the global arena. Disagreements arise over how to achieve these lofty goals.

The Leadership America agenda will enable participants to develop their own "report cards" on the state of our nation’s education. The session will feature conversations with experts from a broad spectrum of education-related fields, including teachers, administrators, classroom innovators, legislators, public policy experts, and business and civic leaders.

Leadership America participants will also have opportunity to discuss the economic factors of education with economists and engage business leaders regarding the reconfiguration and retooling of an educated workforce. In addition, a leadership skills-building workshop will offer an opportunity to engage your passion, your brains, and your expertise.
