AGILE LEADERSHIP—Technology Innovations: Powering A More Flexible Leader July 19-21 2009

Technology Innovations—Equipping A More Flexible Leader
Apply Today!

Technology breakthroughs continue to create a growing awareness of connectedness at all levels. Nuclear energy, computers, satellite TV, lasers and biotechnology, organ transplants, space exploration, and the internet: all these, and more, have forced us to see the world as a single, albeit complicated, system – one immense set of interrelated pieces.

Connective leaders who know how to bring together all the diverse, interdependent parties, even those who feel they have conflicting agendas, will achieve important goals more effectively in this new environment.

In the “cradle of technology”, Leadership America participants will have opportunity to explore the impact of leading-edge innovations on their particular arenas of professional leadership. The engines of change are pushing leaders simultaneously in different directions, toward both increased interdependence and greater fragmentation born of diversity.

The session will focus on the technology revolution’s demand for new solutions that integrate the economic, political, health, and educational needs of many diverse groups.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

AGILE LEADERSHIP—Navigating the World: Connecting the Global Economy
Washington, DC
October 11- 13, 2009
Beijing & Shanghai, China
October 13- 24, 2009

Whether continuing to China or ending the New Leadership America 2009 in Washington, DC. participants will gather valuable information from Washington officials on the state of the economy by the beginning of the fourth quarter. They will hear what is working and what is not working. Most importantly, they will have an intimate look at how the national and international financial and political climates affect the industries and organizations represented by the class members.

Following briefings from State Department officials and economic policy leaders in Washington, DC, 2009 Leadership America international participants will fly to Beijing. As a presentation of The Women's Museum, Leadership America will access the experience and expertise of the Smithsonian Institute to plan and implement this trip.

This overseas session will feature an incisive look at China's economy and its ever-expanding impact on the world marketplace. This session will provide an unequaled opportunity to connect to women leaders in a country whose destiny is inevitably intertwined with our own. The interaction among women leaders from China and the US will heighten global awareness of where and how our agendas coincide, provide resources to lead with connectivity and agility in a rapidly changing world forum, and create a global women's leadership network.
